Indian stock market will be closed on December 25, 2024 (Christmas holiday).
Market will also remain closed on December 28 (Saturday) and December 29 (Sunday), part of the usual weekend break.
On December 25, major segments like capital markets, futures and options, and the Currency Derivatives Segment will be non-operational.
Commodity derivatives and electronic gold receipts (EGR) will also be halted on the MCX and NCDEX.
Trading will resume on January 1, 2025, marking the beginning of the new year for financial markets.

The rupee opened at 85.02 and reached a low of 85.13 before closing at 85.11.
High dollar demand and rising crude oil prices impacted the rupee.
The dollar index is expected to remain elevated due to a slower-than-expected rate cut by the US Federal Reserve in 2025.
