The Nifty Metal index fell 1.6% after gaining for five sessions, which was led by losses in National Aluminium, SAIL, and Vedanta due to weak global sentiment.
Concerns over US-imposed 25% tariffs on steel and aluminium impacted investor confidence, despite India's limited exports to the US.
National Aluminium fell 4% to Rs 192.51, SAIL dropped 3.47%, and Vedanta declined 2.3%. NMDC also fell 2.85% to Rs 65.8 per share.
